The Arc Of Umatilla County

MISSION STATEMENT:The ARC of Umatilla County advocates to enhance the dignity, expand the opportunities and protect the rights of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Arc of Umatilla County is a non-profit organization of members who work together seeking to improve the quality of life for all persons who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc provides guidance, referrals and group activities for individuals and their families. The Arc contributes to public awareness both on prevention issues concerned with the acquisition of developmental disabilities and on the needs, rights and abilities of persons who have developmental disabilities. Through its membership meetings, guest speakers, media campaigns, legislative actions and community projects, The Arc meets its goal of advocating for the rights of citizens with developmental disabilities

Blue Mountain Community College

Developmental education, library and audio-visual, assistance for handicappedconditions, financial aid (in the form of grants, scholarships, work study, and low-interestloans), Veterans Aid, and college transfer and vocational programs. Free services include academic and vocational counseling. Placement Testing takes place Monday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

SERVICES PROVIDED: Consultation services to address specific problems of individual students. Toassist in determining program eligibility, and developing appropriate educationprograms. To serve as a resource for parents and professionals.

Referrals for school age children are made through the child’s local schooldistrict. Children below school age are referred through the Early Intervention/EarlyChildhood Special Education Assessment team at 1-800-927-5847
